Protecting Wetlands. Protecting Water.
Palmietfontein shares a deep respect for the internationally recognised principles of wetland conservation and the wise use of freshwater resources.

Rooted in a remarkable landscape. Guided by responsible stewardship.
Every great story begins with a place. Ours begins in the high-altitude landscapes surrounding Verloren Valei, where nature has quietly protected a remarkable natural spring for generations. Palmietfontein exists to share that gift responsibly—preserving its quality by bottling at source while caring for the landscape that makes it possible.
At the heart of Palmietfontein is a modern bottling facility designed to preserve the natural quality of our spring water from source to finished product.
Using carefully controlled production processes and modern bottling technology, every bottle is produced to meet strict food safety and quality standards.
Every bottle begins with a promise to protect the source.
At Palmietfontein, we believe exceptional water begins long before it reaches a bottle. It begins with respecting the landscape, protecting the natural spring and preserving the integrity of the source. Every decision we make reflects our commitment to responsible stewardship, ensuring that the water remains as nature intended.
Bottling at source allows us to preserve the natural character of the spring while carefully protecting its quality from source to bottle. Stewardship is not simply part of what we do—it is the foundation of who we are.

One of South Africa's most remarkable protected freshwater landscapes.
Palmietfontein is privileged to share its home with the Verloren Valei Nature Reserve, one of South Africa’s most remarkable high-altitude wetland landscapes. Situated alongside our natural spring, this internationally recognised reserve protects an extraordinary network of wetlands that sustain freshwater resources, support exceptional biodiversity and give rise to several important river systems.
The reserve was proclaimed in 1983 through the vision and collaboration of conservationists, neighbouring landowners and organisations committed to protecting this unique environment. Support from the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF South Africa), together with the Rupert family and other conservation partners, helped secure the protection of this remarkable landscape for future generations.
In 2001, Verloren Valei received international recognition as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance, recognising its outstanding ecological value and its vital role in protecting freshwater resources.
At Palmietfontein, we deeply respect the principles of the Ramsar Convention—protecting wetlands, promoting the wise use of freshwater resources and ensuring these natural systems are preserved for future generations. Although Palmietfontein and the Verloren Valei Nature Reserve have different roles, we share a common belief that exceptional water begins with protecting the landscape that sustains it.

Respecting nature. Sharing its gift.
Palmietfontein's story has always been shaped by respect—for the land, for the natural spring and for the responsibility that comes with sharing such a remarkable resource. Over time, this

respect has grown into a simple philosophy: protect the source first, and the quality of the water will follow.
Today, that philosophy guides every aspect of Palmietfontein. From caring for the spring and bottling at source to maintaining the highest standards of quality, our commitment remains unchanged—to preserve this natural gift while sharing it responsibly with others.

Stewardship is not something we say. It is something we live every day.
Every day at Palmietfontein begins with the same understanding: exceptional water is only possible when the landscape that sustains it is respected.
Stewardship is reflected in the way we care for our surroundings, protect our natural spring and honour the responsibility of sharing this remarkable resource with others.
For us, preserving the source is not simply good practice—it is a lasting commitment to future generations.

Building relationships founded on trust.
Palmietfontein believes that lasting relationships are built on trust, consistency and shared values. Whether working with customers, supporting private-label partners or welcoming visitors, our commitment remains the same: integrity, quality and responsible stewardship.
